How important is the ability to move the arrow rest up&d

I shoot recurve, with a finger tab. Can't really figure out what the ability to move an arrow rest up and down is good for.

It is usually for being able to centre the arrow on the plunger. You want the part of the arrow that touches the plunger to be half way down the plunger. If you are shooting indoor arrows that are different to outdoor arrows, this is particularly important.
