Does anyone have any experience setting up Beiter recurve arrow rests?
I just fitted one of these on my daughters bow, a Samick Agulla, and I am having a few problems. I could not mount the rest at the recommended 15 degree angle because the bow is L/H and to be able to use the adjusting tool to vary the rest height I had to mount it at about 13 degree.I also changed the arrow nock position to form a 'Y' shape when veiwed from the rear with the arrow nocked, this positions one of the fletches straight down towards the rest. This is the correct method according to Beiter's instructions. After fitting the rest and adjusting centre shot, the arrow impact point at 18m was almost 1m to the right. Re-checked centre shot and moved arrow in slightly towards the string, adjusted plunger and found less tension made a small difference. After shooting a dozen arrows the rest finger had bent forward to about 60 degree, instead of being straight under the plunger button. I thought this may have been caused by the fletch hitting the finger,or the nocking point may be to high? Lowered the nock point and changed the arrow nocks back to the conventional position and re-tested. Arrows are still impacting to the right about 400mm.
Can anyone offer some advise. And please don't say throw it away, it's a $60 rest.

Hi
I'm left handed and have the same problem with the adjustment tool. Try using an Allen Key instead, one of those that is an "L" shape. The short end will fit without disturbing the position of the backplate of the rest.
I also found I had been given the wrong arm.
The shop sells "Long" and "Short" - but this is the horizontal distance of the rest, not, as I had thought, the vertical distance. The long vertical ones are "short" and used for ACE and other slender arrows. The short vertical ones have "Long" horizontal platforms for thicker arrows. Point is, if you're using thin arrows with a broad "long" platform, then you need to take your scissors to the arm and shorten it. Or buy the correct one and wait nearly two weeks for the replacement! :x
Enjoy.

Peter,
Thanks for the reply. The rest came with 2 different supports and I am using the smaller one at the moment. I was holding off trimming the arm untill I got the tuning a little closer. I spoke to the company that supplied the rest today, and they were very helpful, made a few suggestions that I will be trying out on the weekend.
