I have a set of cam and 1/2 here. Got them on ebay for 120$ US. So now I was wondering about buying a hoyt protec 2002 xt3000.
How is it with the draw length. If I have cams for 26-28 inch lenght, will it be on 2002 protec the same draw length?

I think the 26- 28 cams off XT3000 would be shorter on the XT2000.
And the Cam&1/2 would change the poundage on the 2002 limbs.
I think :-? :D

You will lose 30lb on the conversion.
Goto the Hoyt tune charts for the string lengths. (on their website)
When the poundage is too low drop me a PM and I'll buy the cams off you. ;)

Wouldn't it depend what cam is on the 2002 bow as to whether or not he will lose poundage? My understanding was that the excel cam and Cam 1/2 were quite the same in aggressiveness. Whereas the CC+ was about the same as spirals...
Is that right? :-?

That's the description from ebay:
'02 Hoyt Protec with XT3000 limbs. #2 Command Cams+ adjustable from 28 to 30" draw. 60# Draw weight.
So that means that I need to look for 80# protec with command cams so I will get about 55# with cam and 1/2.
I know someone from my team who has vortec year 2000 with xt2000 limbs and he went from one cam that were originaly on the bow to cam and 1/2 and the poundage stayed the same.
Yes, mloncar I will buy 2002 hoyt protec. For 300$US max.

Sorry I assume people would buy a twin cam over the single. ;)
Yeah the single should stay about the same but the double will lose ALOT of pounds.

What if I buy protec 2002 single cam and then change to cam and 1/2? Then I wouldn't lose that much poundage, right?
Which cams were there in 2002 single cams. Heard for VersaCam and Excel? Were this cams single.

look at this site:
http://www.hoytusa.com/technical/MyChart.tpl?page=02_protec.inc&cart=109092633318991228
there were accu wheel, command cam, excel and versa (last two are single cams)!

So what would be better to look for:
Hoyt Protec, XT3000, 26-28", 50-60#, versa cam or excel cam.
or
Hoyt Protec, XT 3000, 26-28", 60-70#, command cam.
If there is max poundage at 70# with cam 0.5 should be around 55#.

I had a bit of a discussion about this here (http://www.archery-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=83801&highlight=).
Didn't end up changing to dual cams since the excel cam worked very well indeed. 2002 XT3000 Protec.
