Hi,
I'd like to join the ABA and do the bowhunter's proficiency course to get ready for the permit system to hunt Public land in NSW which is about to start. Does anyone know where is the best place/club in Canberra to do this?
Thanks,
Mick.

There is a club at Queenbean. I can find a contact Number if you need one.

Just adding to Robbo's reply, Gordon Millerick at the Southwest Slopes Field Archers at Tumut runs a very good bowhunter proficiency course. Thats an hour and a half from me in Yass and probably two hours for you. If you are interested I can let you know the number.

Mick, ACT Field and 3D are ABA associates and are at Pt Hutt Xing, give me a pm if you want a phone number. There is a 2 day shoot coming up at Tumut, perhaps you could get there a day early and Gordon may put you through the course (a couple of hours.)

DWD did you mean the course is 2 hours? If so ,I think you mistaken my good sir. It is a 2 DAY course. This comes from Gordons' mouth I heard him :D
Well it is supposed to be :o

I did the BPC with Gordon back in '91. I can barely remember what I did yesterday, yet alone 13 years ago. I seem to recall it lasted the better part of a day though. :o
I recently had to re-do the shooting part of the course (I let my ABA subs slide for a while once - shock horror), and the whole course ran for about 4.5 or 5 hours (including lunch).

When I did my BPC course a few years ago at DVA it was held over two full days.
