Hey all,
here are some pics of my latest arrows. right wing hand stripped turkey... uncut .. tied on barred turkey with a black turkey cock feather with self nocks. They fly well out to 40 paces or so.. not super fast.. but respectable... they have a lot of "hit" out to around 20 paces.
They are noisy.. but it's a beautiful noise. :D
I can group them to around 6 feet at 100 paces...
I am going to make some more and try trimming/burning the edges.
Looking for suggestions as to interesting shapes to try? One way I am going to do them is in the classical chinese style .. parallel to the shaft and the fletching the same width as the diameter of the shaft. I'm told it's much quieter and very stable with long fletches. These are 5 inches btw. :D
thanks,
Mick.
