A difficult one enseth.

IMHO 80gn point is too light, but the 100 may make your arrow a bit heavy.

Having said that, at 5.6gn/lb the 80gn point isn't really doing the job either.

If you can't afford to lose the speed, I'd be looking for an arrow shaft that was lighter so that I could load it up with a nice heavy point and still be around 5gn/lb.

If you're comfortable with the speed at 6gn/lb though, then I'd go for the 100gn points over the 80's

The other option is to go for "ligtspeeds". They are a little lighter, but does anyone know how much difference there is in the shaft diameter between the fatboys & lightspeeds?

You will gain 0.9mm linecutting advantage with Fatboys.

I use Lightspeeds, and I'm extremely happy with them. I've payed particular attention to linecutting recently, and over the last few shoots I have only been able to identify one target where I *might* have gained two points with fatter arrows.

I shoot both 340 lightspeeds and fatboys .
Luke yu must be shooting better than me at the moment :D

I picked up around 20 points over 4 rounds of aba a fortnight ago and I reckon I got about 15 bonus points in 3D last weekend shooting the fatty's .

My lightspeeds fit inside my fatboys and I will continue to use them for aba and 3d I run 90 gn points in my lightspeeds and 80 gn in my fatboys . I wind the bow up 1 & 1/2 turns to shoot the fattys just to compensate for the extra spine by shooting the lighter point and get them out of the bow a bit faster .

Very tough and durable arrow .

Sure, if you're shooting liners all the time they will pick up a few points, just that I've been paying attention to my own shooting, and the liners are few and far between (sure - I shoot a few eights, but very few are close to the line).

Like I said, the thicker arrow will only be slightly closer to the line, so it's gotta be very close in the first place to get the extra points.

I'm not saying they're bad arrows at all, just that for me, there is no advantage to moving over from lightspeeds just for the sake of the odd liner. The lightspeeds are light, fast, consistent, durable and work very well for my setup.

If anyone thinks Fatboys or similar are a better choice for their setup - that's great, all I'm saying is consider more than just line cutting ability.

Go with the 100gn minimum, there is to much wind drift with fatboys escpetialy using light points so go with the heaviest you can :D
Trust me I just bought some CX linejammers and i got a lighter wheght and was getting two much drift at long distances so I went with the 125gn point and no probs :D
