Shall we put a petition to see ARCHERY on air too?

----Original Message Follows----
Hi all:

As we know, chanel 7 will be broadcasting the Olympic games. If it's
anything like the last olympics, we'll be lucky to see swimming, swimming
and more swimming and maybe some diving, diving and more diving on week 1.
It might be a good time to start filling their emails and jamming the phone
lines with requests to see the best sport on earth, JUDO. The link is
attached

SBS is so far a better alternative since they will be showing the -81kg Men and -63kg women finals on Tue 17 August at 23:30. You can also SMS your sport preference and they'll send you a message before it is broadcast (if at all)

&chosenweek=2004-08-15

It only cost 50c for the SMS which is not an expensive price to see Judo on free to air TV.

So lets start sending emails, SMS and telephone calls to the two
broadcasters and with any luck, we'll see judo on TV. Tell them what
divissions Australia has a Chance of a medal.

Get behind your sport and pass this info to any other Judokas you can think of.

Good info w66327.

I have every confidence that AA is lobying 7 to have at least a highlights package broadcast. We have the reigning Olympic champion and two other very good medal chances with the men. That makes for good TV. We are very unlikely to get any live coverage unless someone makes it to a medal match. No primetime coverage has been scheduled according to their website. However, for the 19th 7 are anticipating one of the boys in the finals.

Day 6: Thursday, 19 August

15 gold medals. 8 sports.

Archery (1) Men's Ind
Badminton (2) Women's Singles; Mixed Doubles
Fencing (1) Men's Team Sabre
Gymnastics (1) Women's Ind All-Around
Judo (2) Women's -78kg; M -100kg 2 bronze awarded
Shooting (2) Men's 10m Running Target; Women's Skeet
Swimming (4) Women's 200m Breaststroke; Men's 200m Backstroke; Men's 200m Individual Medley; Women's 100m Freestyle
Weightlifting (2) Women's 69kg; Men's 77kg

Anticipated Australians in primetime (1500-2400)

Australia v USA - Men's basketball
4 rowing semi-finals - including Drew Ginn and James Tomkins in Men's pairs
Geoff Huegill and Adam Pine - 100m butterfly heats
Brett Hawke and Ashley Callus - 50m freestyle heats
Linda MacKenzie and Sarah Paton - 800m freestyle heats
Francis Adcock and Melissa Morgan - 200m backstroke heats
Lauryn Mark - women's skeet final

Anticipated Australians - (2400-0700)

Simon Fairweather, Tim Cuddihy and David Barnes - Men's archery quarter-finals, semi-finals and final

There doesn't appear to be an archery specific comentator (although there were runours a while back that one was to be used), so maybe Bruce McAveney and Dave Culbert??

Those of us in Sydney should attempt to get to the Sunrise broadcast (due to be broadcast from Martin Place I think) as they are having a live audience of Olympic friends and family (we can all pretend to be lifelong friends of the team :D ).

Correction:

After the men's performance in the teams events this year 7 is looking at the 21st as another good archery day. They have listed the Men's Team finals as a primetime highlight, and (it seems) are anticipating going live for the medals!! 8)
