OK as the new Av Tournament director I am putting together 3 comps for shooters to shoot in. These are:

Friday Night Indoor League-
This will consist of a 8 week handicap event with shooters shooting a handicap system based on an average of their own scores. Shooter with the best % over average will be the winner. Award also to the shooter who improves the most and the shooter who posts the single highest round (without handicap)

Saturday Arvo League-
This will be an 8 week outdoor round event, consisting of 90 arows at three distances, the rounds will vary depending on age and experiance. Advanced shooters will shoot longer rounds. It will be handicapped using the same system as the indoor league. Similar awards will also be handed out.

At the completion of the 2 leagues we will have a club dinner and awards night.

The third event will be a "Target Shooter of the Year" award. This will be a longer round shot on one Sunday per month. The award goes to the highest scorer in Compound, Recurve and Junior. Details to be finalised.

Cost to shoot in the leagues is yet to be decided and will begin hopefully on the last Friday of August, the Target league will start the following day. Entry forms coming soon. Any questions please post them here or see me at the club.

All of that sounds Fantastic Marcus, I'm keen to shoot all three. I'm particularly pleased that the Saturday target league is on Saturday and not Sunday, as this will not conflict with our two monthly field shoots, (first and second Sunday of each month, 3D and ABA respectively :)).

...great for people who like both games :D.

I really like the idea of an awards night and dinner also. very good ;).

Yeah I figured that the Saturday comp goes better on the Saturday, keeps the integrity of the name at least.
I didn't want to get in the way of other events for all. I should have the monthly shoot on the 4th Sunday of each month then as I want to shoot some ABA monthly shoots. See if someone gets AV and ABA shooter of the year awards! :cool :cool :)

ha ha ha Saturday comp on Saturday...:D I get it:D

4th Sunday of each month sounds good for the monthly target event.

If we really get organised we could get Steve to run a IFAA monthly on the third Sunday of each month...wow that would be good;).

Erika called me a prick for that reply I sent. :D

Ge a monthly shoot every day, awesome stuff, best thing is that it gets people shooting rounds constantly, only way to improve!

I've been tossing around the concept of a one night DVA Indoor championships. League is great, but shooting a round to win or lose is harder.

hehe tell Erika she is right ;):eek;)

...mmm a one night Indoor Championship would be cool, shooting a round to win on scratch is just the kind of thing we need to pull our collective fingers out;)
