Hi Guys, hope all is well.

Just a note to Marcus (web master?) to say that the "current poll" idea is really good....and will get better when you get more people visiting the site and subsequently more valid results (which looks on track I'm pleased to say :p ).

But....oh yes there's always a but isn't there :rolleyes , just a brief comment on your current one..."where do you purchase your archery equipment" or words to that affect. Unfortunately it's not an exhaustive list as there are one or two independent Victorian dealers who are not mentioned. They're small so you probably wouldn't have to list them, but you haven't got an "other" category. I know it sounds pedantic but it is frustrating when you can't answer.

Incidentally, not being an IT person to say the least :confused , is their any control to stop people from entering their answers in your poll more than once? I imagine it's a very complicated task to control for.

Yeah I was pretty happy with the poll. It's a work in progress and was written in an afternoon by request from some other developers. All the features on here are usually practice or proof of concept for the language I write in. Unfortunatly sometimes it means that I don't finish things or don't update already installed ones after I do.
There are a couple of ways to prevent people posting more than once, however none are 100% fool proof. I did have one system in place, but removed it, if I see multiple answers (I do track entries) I'll tighten it up. I would hope people would be interested in the result and won't post twice, but then idiots are everywhere.
Sorry about that oversight with the dealers, I've added the 'other' possible. If people do buy from multiple dealers they are welcome to post twice (still valid answer)

Hey, I've been trying to put Bows Arrows and Bits down as my archery shop on the poll, and tried maybe 4-5 times. I kept getting the page may not be online yet error, but it worked this morning.

Have my posts to this poll which resulted in errors been registered, (hence the 14 BAB polls?)?

Hmm, seems to be working OK. I have been making a few changes, mainly to the forum (I'm building an admin area and need to make small changes to the front).
Does the polls work for you now? I'll remove multiple votes (already removed about 15 votes for the Nock shop by the same guy)

Yeah Erika commented that she didn't like it with the latest first. I had it that way because my Blackhawks forum has topics that go for 200 posts. This might slow em down or make em start new topics.

I know who it was, it's no bg deal, couldn't really care, but I will make a system to prevent it.

I agree the current poll is a great idea. but, if you have the technology to prevent multiple entries by the same person, then you should reset the pole and put them in place to ensure the reliability of the poll. some people do it just to test the system... :rolleyes ;)

Also, I cannot truthfully answer the poll as I have bought from several dealers not listed as well as from all three listed vic dealers...so I agree with Toxophillite, these need to be added.

Yeah unfortunatly I can't have every dealer there and it's just something to give some info and have fun with.
I too have bought from multible dealers, I have added an 'other' but it is also truful to give multiple different answers.
I only have room for 9 questions in the poll BTW.
Any suggestions for other polls?

I for one would like to know a bit more about what the compounders are shooting in the way of releases.

How about something like...what kind of release do you shoot?
a. back tension
b. trigger
c. reverse trigger (like a Cascade 8)
d. caliper
e. other

and any other types I dont know about.

...or an arrow poll. I'd be interested to find out how many people are shooting ACE's, X10's, CT McKinneys, CT Royals, Bemans etc...
