OK so how close have people come to 1440? How many 10's in a row have people started a FITA with? I started mine on Sunday with 3, so part way through I was still clean. ;) :D Erika said she has started with 5. Interesting to hear how long others have gone before ruining their perfect FITA score.

That is the best I have shot in ages .

I know its not a fita , but it is still concentration

I've started with three tens at 90m before, IIRC. But didn't even think about it at the time. My last arrow that end was a 1. :(

Some years ago I started a FITA in reasonable condition, and on about the 3rd end was really getting it together. I put down 5 really good arrows on that end, and was sure that they were all in the gold. I had not shot an AG at 90m at that time, but stayed calm for the 6th arrow.

Jason Hanson was shooting behind me, both right handers, and while I was at full draw on the 6th arrow I saw the Doinker fall off Jasons' stab out of the corner of my eye. I cracked up. :D

Even though I let down, when Jason later came to full draw in my vision, I anticipated the Doinker coming off again. :(

My score on that end was 10-10-10-9-9-4  And things went downhill from there.

I tried that 90m torture treatment last weekend at Roosters place.
Let's just say, I was happy if I hit the cardboard supporting the target :o

I was sooo dissappointed...However, I did finish with a 358 :D

Are you not claiming to have shot 360 at 50m? Were all those 10's shot on the same day?

But i don't know if it counts though...

I shot all four distances at 90mts. Apparently you get to move closer after every 36 arrows! :o

and you're not supposed to shoot on a 40cm face. Oh well.

hey did i mention i'm a level 2 coach?.....

Thats great shooting if you shot a 358 at 50m (although i heard you shot a 360 as well :o ??). It would be great to see some pictures of you shooting, or even better a video. Im sure we could all learn a lot.

But if you didnt shoot that, get your hand off it and stop talking ****.......

I think my best first end at 90m was a 48. very exciting. (I think it is also my best end *ever* at 90m btw)
had a couple of 26 the 2 following ends and then shot complete rubbish (i.e. even more rubbish than 26 :( )

my best Fita was 1439 also. however I was asleep during the whole competition (and cheated)

For a shooter who shoots an average of 1350 on a FITA, I think that the probability of their shooting a 10 or X at 90m for a given arrow is 32%.

So to shoot N 10's or higher in a row, the chances are (0.32)^N.

So, five in a row would be roughly three matches per thousand, three in a row is about three per hundred.

But if the shooter has a higher average FITA, the odds get better; for example, if you're 1380 on average, that would give rougly a 44% chance for a 10 or better.

Anyway, I could have done these calculations incorrectly, so be careful about trusting them!!! :)

those calculations must be right, you took nearly 3 months to figure them out. :D

I have a little spreadsheet that lets me calculate the probability of an archer getting a particular score for either one or two ends.

C'mon - all you have to do is shoot 144 tens in a row. It can't be that hard - can it ? :D

I mean, we can all shoot a ten at each distance, so why not just shoot all tens?

BTW - I think I've probably only ever been clean for about two arrows at 90m :D

In an ABA round, I've shot 19 20's then an 18, and in a 3DAAA round I've shot 9 10's then an eight.

Aust indoor I can clean, but not FITA indoor.

Can you spell choker? :D

I came 1400th at the Gold Coast Marathon. Does that count?

Side note, I feel I have the record for making a set of arrows a real set. You all know that you of course break one very quickly. Well today I got a brand new set and way stuffing around seeing how the points fit into the shafts to make sure I could get them in smooth. I managed to push one in and get it stuck then bend it still stuck in the frickn thing. 1 down, 11 to go. :agrue: :agrue: :x
