What are the peg distances in 3DAAA? Do they have groups like in ABA? If so what are they?
OldDog
14-10-2002, 02:50 PM
The peg distances are related directly to equipment sex and age,
Championship (semipro) MBO and Mbr, :50yds max.
Hunter class FBO FBR MCU. YMR 40yds max
RA FCU YFR YMCU Max 30yds
The kids have a max of 20 yds, (rarely seen)
Marcus

So is that all we know is it? That a target can be up to 50yards away? Is there a "On the Standing Bear between 20 and 30m" kind of thing?
OldDog
14-10-2002, 03:05 PM
No, They can be anywhere between 1 and 50 yds,
Marcus
14-10-2002, 03:10 PM
What are the peg colours for the different divisions?
Maranoa_Archer
14-10-2002, 04:07 PM
Orange - MBO, MBR, MSR
Green - MBF, FBO, FBR, FBF, MCU, YMR(15-17), HUNTER CLASS

So for example, Marcus and I ...a couple of amatuer Mexicans...what would we shoot? 50yds max orange peg?
Are we MBO, MBR, MSR? What do they stand for?
OldDog

MBO Luke, I have to go out for a couple of hours, will explain more when I return. :D

Noel
Is that correct, kids under 13 shoot up to a max 20 yds?
Are there any divisions like sighted or bare bow for kids?
Just trying to find out as much info as possible, we would like to get there if we can.
Does 3DAAA have a web site?
Thanks
Robbo :P
can you imagine if 3DAAA, IFAA, ABA, IBO and AA had a combined shoot.
the presentation would go for weeks...
OldDog
14-10-2002, 06:18 PM

"And now the winner for U15 female longbow using tradition drawing methods but pin sights from AA is......"
I actually though 3DAAA's looked pretty good, only 20 possible 1st places instead of 96 for AA. Of course why women can't shoot 50m is beyond me.

Back again Luke, MBO is Male bowhunter open, basicly the same rules as fita mens compound, anything goes, no bow weight limit rule, 5 grains per pound arrow weight rule, While the maximum distance is 50 yds your average shot at a guess would be about 30 to 35 yds.
OldDog
14-10-2002, 08:04 PM
Robbo, !!sighted barebow!! oxymoron there mate, what I think you meant to ask was, is there a division for under 13 using sights, yes there is, it is called cub aided. HTH.
OldDog
14-10-2002, 08:08 PM
In all divisions binoculars are not only allowed they are encouraged, Maximum power is 8* This power is not enforced with first timers.

14-10-2002, 08:11 PM
Thanks Noel!
Does that mean that if I turn up with my Opticron 10x32's they'll turn a blind eye ?
Or do I need to buy new binos
OldDog
14-10-2002, 08:15 PM
That is correct. Was that a play on words or an accident. :D
robbo
14-10-2002, 08:18 PM
Noel
It should have read sighted OR barebow, I left out the OR.
I have just been to the 3DAAA website, the kids are bare bow so they are CUBU.
Robbo :P

Another question Noel
I shoot barebow with fingers, male compound unaided (MCU) .
Are there any restrictions on bow weight, point weight or fletching size.
Thanks
Robbo :P
OldDog
14-10-2002, 08:41 PM
No Robbo, the only rule relating to arrows is 5 grains per lb of bowweight for this class. Your maximum distance is 40 yds, Your average shot will be around the25 to 30 yds.

I'm sending in my 3DAAA membership application in today, as soon as I get off this forum (this thing is addictive).
I got a membership form in the email this morning.
All I've got to do is take the kitchen out, put a new one (second hand) in and renovate and paint a bedroom and I am allowed to go.
 .... .. .. .. ..
Now all I need is a few more pairs of hands and a builder.
 .. .. .. .. .. ..
I'll have to do some sweet talking I think.

Hopefully I will see a few of you up there.
Robbo :P

On the Friday before the Nats just say you are nipping out for some liquid nails.
When you don't come home and get a call on your mobile just say "Geez Bunnings is big! Seeya Monday"
:P

I don't know if that will work. the missus knows all my tricks and excuses.
Although I haven't used that one before, sounds good.
I've been fixing the kitchen for 6 months. :D
I might have to actually do something this time

Eberbachl
15-10-2002, 10:25 AM
Hey dude, speak for yourself! :D
 :bday:
Marcus
15-10-2002, 10:29 AM
I think there is too much evidence to support the degeneracy of this board to bother arguing against it.
Eberbachl
15-10-2002, 10:50 AM
Yeah, OK ya got me...I can't argue with that kind of evidence :D

In 3DAAA there is maximum bow weights, they are:-
80pounds for all male classes except traditional which is 90 pounds.
60 pounds for all female & youth classes.
40 pounds for all cub classes.
robbo
16-10-2002, 11:59 PM
Are there any rules on stablizers ie. under 12inches etc?
Maranoa_Archer
17-10-2002, 06:09 PM
robbo there is only one division where you are limited stabilier wise. This is hunter class -
Only one(1) single stabiliser with a maximum of 12 inches in length from the nearest point of attachment is allowed
That is straight from the 3D archery association of australia rule book for 2002.
Hope this answers your ???
robbo
17-10-2002, 08:15 PM
Thanks Maranoa
I'm Male compound unaided I think, so it shouldn't affect me.

As far as stabilizers go, I have a 3/4" weight screwed into the left side my bowsling 'afficiator', is that legal, and is it illegale to put a Y-bar on the back of the bow and then attatch a weight?
