I found some mention of a stabiliser that you have pointing towards the ground. Meant to stop left and right and make your bow more stable. Could be a farse, but I ordered one anyway.
Have a look here.

It's very interesting that you mention that, when I spoke to Shaun at the Nock Shop on Monday night, he saw my quick release stabilizer thing and said lots of guys in the U.S. were shooting them with a down facing thread to angle the stabilizer.
....Sounds like a good theory ;)

Yeah I figure it will either work well, or be another Compound shooter gimmick, of which there are plenty!

i Know this is a very old thread but thought it interesting as i have been wondering if these things are a gimmick or do they actually make the bow more stable.

They make the shot feel different, so I would say try one if your curious.
I shot one for 3 years. I liked it & then I changed :thumb:

They simply move the centre of mass of the bow a little lower.
Aside from that, they look horrible.

I use the 10º down quick release by Shrewd and love it.
It helps keep the bow mass low, particularly in combination with a rear v-bar.
Some people say it's a gimmick; mainly the people who haven't tried it.

Pffffffttt they don't look that bad :D
And like I said it changes Aiming/Balance of the Bow

Tried em. Still say it's a gimmick.
Or more accurately can be done just as well with other stabilizer combos, or better yet, AWS weights.
Your 10 degree stabiliser droop can be fixed with Ultrablack Industries Bow-agra.
You have to apply it at least 30 minutes before the shooting though...

Wow! What a blast from the past :o
....I can't say I ever tried one (either that or it was an entirely forgettable experience).
I couldn't stand the look of them. It would make my bow feel so ....inadequate.

Mine has been like it for the past few years especially when I get out of bed, haven't seen any change of my balance though.
