Are there any cheap secondhand bows out there?
I am looking for a few cheap (but good) compound bows for our club.
We did have a couple of fibreglass recurves but they were stolen. They were not much good any way.
There are a few people who would like to try archery but with out club bows it is hard to let them have a decent go.
We would probably be looking for a:
kids bow around 30# and 18" to 23"
A mid sized bow around 40# to 50# and 24" to 26"
And one around 60# and 27" to 31"
These sizes are fairly arbitrary, and brands are not too important, but be in reasonable condition and not too old.
Thanks

robbo we have a very nice looking champion bow in target colours at our club dealer. I am not sure whether it is second hand but i could find out price for you. I think it is a falcon!
Could still cost too much for a club bow maybe if someone was buying it for themselves.
One nice little bow i started off with was a seneca. Can't remember exactly what model though.

The Falcon is that a kids bow? could you find out the specs on it and a price please. It will probably be too dear as you say for a club bow, but some body might be interested.
Is that at Karls shop?
Thanks

yeah it is from karls shop. You might have met him at Coffs!!!
I do not know some of the exact specs but the draw length is so easy to change you just have to buy modules for about $30 aus and you can change those without a bow press.
This one is in red and white and same for the string as well.

Hey Robbo,
My wife Hayley's bow is for sale.
Currently being looked at by someone, but in case they don't buy it keep it in the back of your mind:
PSE Spyder, Venom Cam, Blue,
26-40lbs 23/24" draw length
Very nice light weight bow, suit short draw female or juniors.
$350 about 18 months old

The Red Champion is a Badger, not a Falcon. :P
Our club has some old Perks Archery Compounds we might want to flog off for about $50 each (I would think). They are good for beginners but that's about all. We used them for beginners bows till we bought our Champions. If you want to spend $$ then the Genisis bows are good.

The genisis, is that made by mathews?
How much would you expect to pay for one?

Luke is the Spyder a solo cam?
I will keep it in mind next time we have a junior looking for a bow.
I migt be looking for a bow for my wife latter. She doesn't do archery ... yet. But I think she may be about 25".

Check out your Goverments Sport & Rec department. In Vic if equipment is stolen you can apply for a grant up to $2000 to purchase new equipment.
Your state may have a similar grant
:D :D

We applied for a small grant a few months ago, we just got nockbacked. I am not sure what type of grant it was, I think it was $1000 to $5000.
I might get our committee to check out the Dept of Sport and Rec, it can't hurt to try.

Thanks Luke.
I was talking to one of our cubs (junior in 2 weeks) father this afternoon at swimming, and he is after another bow for his son (13). So I was checking on your bow to give him some options.
It sounds like it would suit him.
