What are the age groups in AA and how are they worked out?
Do you have to be under the age group, if you are in under 12's and then turn 12 do you go up to the next age group?

Yes, robbo, if you turn 12, you are in the next age group, hence "under 12".

its

U10
U12
U14
U16
U18
OPEN

Most of us think this is stupid. You consistently get one or two competitors in each age group....

It would be best as U11, U15, U18. Much more realistic....

In a lot of sports the cut of date is the 31st december. whatever age you turn that year is the age group you are in. So if you turn 12 any time this year you are in under 12's.

But some sports are different that is why I ask.

In little Athletics for example the cut off date is the 30th of September and if you turn 12 after then you are under 12.

For the Nationals your age is detirmined by the actual age of the competitor on the first day of the event. If you have a birthday during the event your age group doesnt change. In VIC for the selection trials you should also make sure that you enter and shoot the correct rounds as per age on first day of the Nationals Championships.

for ex: If you enter trials as under 14 and shoot the Intermediate round but you have a birthday and turn 14 prior to or on the first day of the Nationals event this disqualifies you to get into the state team.

How about U12, U15 and U18
How it use to be before the unbroken was 'fixed'

But, Marcus, if unbroken things were not fixed with some degree of regularity, the powers that be would be left with nothing to do....
