For what is considered good in AUS have a look at the [out of date but within the last 6 months] AA records lists at:

I don't think you can compare that sort of thing. Everything is relative - the best you can do is aim for a good score "for you". It's too hard to put a title of a good score on something - if you do, it is meaningless. There are too many parameters - is it a good score for a novice/experienced/world champion archer, type of weather, type of equipment, how much training you do, what physical fitness you have, etc. I would suggest not bothering with what other people think are good scores. Aim for a score that you think is good for you, and discuss its reality with your coach.

the biggest problem with what you are saying the one is that i donot have a coach. i have never had one. the closest coach to me is auckland. i get coaching once in a blue moon. this is why i am asking what others think are good scores and aiming somewhere round that.

I guess you could always look at what level the top shooters are shooting at
U18 Mens Compound: 1280+ range
U18 Mens Recurve: about 1150-1200 range I would say next year
U18 Girls Recurve: 1150-1200 range
Keep in mind that the top U16 boys compounders are shooting 1370 at the moment, which is about a 1330 Mens range. So expect the standard to improve in that division soon.

i was thinkin it would be about 1320 for my division.
mm about 50 points to go. didnt think when i moved from recurve to compound that i would find it so hard. but hey a year into it im shooting like 1270 mens so im getting there. bit more practice and try get some coaching to make sure im not doing everything rong.
thanks for the replies

I think 1375 is a good Par score for U/18 compound. 330+ 345+ 345+ 355. There is probably a bit of fat at 60 there as well. You will most likely be fairly successful doing this.

Which U18's in Australia or NZ are shooting 1375 at the moment New Tricks? :-?
If you are pulling numbers I think 1440 is a pretty good score.

I dunno Marcus but the guy asked what are good scores. I feel my breakdown is pretty much spot on as good scores. I myself only ever shot 6 Ladies FITAs in comp with a 1360 something (15 under par) as the best but shot many in my backyard (90m max. Amen to parents with acreage) and these were my target scores. I know many have destroyed that score over time. Why not aim for big scores as opposed to what the rest are shooting?

You could always ask The One to help you out he is a level 1? coach. Being the type of bloke he is he should be able to travel to you or maybe New Tricks as he will lift you to new heights :o
Now come on Marcus 1440 is a bit extreme I would think 1439 allowing for as The One puts it level of archer, weather, type of equipment, how much you train and of course level of fitness, may be after looking at it 1437 taking into account who would give a **** about the equipment as it would appear to work :o
