Day1.
Women Compound
1. Jamie VanNatta 349/347
Women Recurve
1. Jennifer Nichols 300/324
Men Compound
1. Braden Gellenthein 319/340
4. Dave Cousin
Men Recurve
1. Vic Wunderle 305/331
2. Buth Johnson
But what about the old bloke from Norway
Matinus Grov 306/332 leading the Men in the Recurve. Has had a big lay off and is showing that after getting married, a baby and shooting a bow that he made himself can still throw down a good score. Only a few people would know him but he is a good bloke.

Can Jamie break the 1400?!
It was quite windy from the 70M midpoint on, 1400 will be a very tall order for anyone. Since no one has ever shot a competition at this particular venue it will take a bit of time to sort out the winds, which were quite challenging yesterday. Wind flags were not terribly reliable ! :D

Good to see you on the shooting line 'gt.' Seems like you are always working at the events rather than shooting. Good luck for the rest of the tournament. See if you can break the 1200. Sounds like the wind might be a major factor.

I was wondering about that... in particular, Martin Damsbo. Do the Americans let foreign nationals into the head-to-head to determine national champions, because that would strike me as potentially bad - if they knock out Americans? Equally, what happens if they win? :-?

If it's world Ranking, they have to let all countries in. I seem to remember Australia having a problem with that a while back, something about losing WR status as only Australians were allowed to enter?
US National champion is determined from the double FITA. The US Open is the OR that's tacked onto the last day, it's a separate title.

Excellent approach.

1999 Nationals IIRC - we shot the FITAs then weren't allowed into the matchplay. Like FITA weren't going to notice that all the entrants were Australian...
They've had WR back since, and I don't think anyone else is silly enough to try that sort of thing again!
