Does anyone make sight tapes up?

    Hi,
I am look at getting some sight tapes made for my sons bow. I know there is a program which does this but I am hopeless with the technical size of archery.
Does anyone out there make up the sight tapes?

I don't know why people use custom sight tapes, if soemthig is changed on you now then the sight tale becomes invalid and you need to make a new one. The next best thing is to get a sight tape that just has mill markings and numbers and write down on a piece of paper what the distances are in correlation to the number on the sight tape. If the bow settings change for some reason then you simply change the number for the distances appropriately on the piece of paper instead of going and making a whole new sight tape. Seems simple enough and it is. I have no further comments.

Except that in the heat of the moment you can read the wrong line (ie - look at say 30m and dial up the number on the next line- say 35m).

I've seen this happen twice in NSW field events in the last 3 years and on one occasion it cost the archer a placing - turning a certain 5 or 6 at 20m into a miss.

If you use accurate sights with a label printer the exercise of making and changing tapes takes about 30 seconds.

Is there a company that you can send your details too and they print out tapes for you?

honestly, purchase the application. by the time you print a couple of tapes it has paid for itself and you encourage further development of the product.

    Gav,
It really isn't that hard. The program is fairly cheap, as are the other programs available.
So give it a go. You will be amazed how easy it is.

Yes there is... It's called "Brenton' archery sight tapes and other stuff shop". He only charges $150 and will give you 2 extra sight tapes for half price. Free postage included. Just PM your details (bow speed, peep to sight, peep to arrow and sight drop from 15 to 50m) and a sight tape will arrive after your money has cleared.

    OR

You could come to my cub and I'll help you make one using accurate sight. (I am pretty sure I have made this offer before)

Maybe I'm missing something but... is not easy to go to the range, start at 5 mts, and go back walking every 5 mts untill you arrive to 90 mts and taking note of the sight of every distance you need (30,50,70,90) ??

That is not really enough if you are serious about field archery, especially with a compound.
