What you need is an inspirational trainer . I recommend Zuzana and her Summer Fit Circuit Workout, esp the divebombers

Hmm, swimming might not be a bad idea for me to keep fit. I haven't done any exercise for six weeks now because of a vertebral compression fracture I suffered in december. A lot of other exercise options can be quite painful.

So long as your medical practitioner allows it i would say go for it,
I have got to knwo a few of the regulars and one lady i was talking to last night has said she was in circuit training for 2 years and due to her size and fitness was not achieving anything, she has been lapping for 3 months now and has said she has never felt better and has lost more weight,
i still look bigger than what i want but at least i can fall out of a boat one kilometre offshore an know i can make it back

i haven't been swimming for years and recently tried to do a swimming test in the local pool. it was 100m fully clothed, i lasted about 30m- totally exhausted! really shattered my memories of being a good swimmer.

Have any of you seen Tim Goodwins archery fitness site? http://fitforarchery.com/. Its got some interesting articles on it and some good ideas on whatarchers should be doing to get fit and improve their shooting.

Hmmm, did you know there are really GEENORMOUS TS's off Maggie island TS? (TS's = Tiger Sharks ... it's not made public, but ask some of the regular divers)

When i read a write up in the local rag last month

TOWNSVILLE has earned the dubious title of Queensland's shark capital, with almost twice as many ocean predators caught in local waters than anywhere else in the State.

A total of 138 sharks had been caught in Townsville waters as part of the State's shark control program since the start of last year, the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries said yesterday. The Sunshine Coast was next on the list, with 74.

Townsville also lays claim to the two largest sharks caught in Queensland waters during the period, with 4.1m and 4m tiger sharks hooked on drumlines off Magnetic Island last October.

ROFL - betcha woulda swum faster to that jet-ski if you'd known eh? And don't forget the salties that made maggie their home recently. Gave up diving years ago when I found out - too many bities in the water for my liking (but don't say anything - you mite scare the tourists)

Three weeks off took it out of me. Three runs later though, covering my best three k's in 17.54
Maybe I should run fast enough to make it hurt?
Nah, bugger that. I went back to a walk twice through this run...

You can see where I piked it where the time spikes up...

I'd think distance over speed - gentler on your body. Great think you did it though, regardless of the speed

I have been cycling and eating a healthy diet for 3 mths now and have dropped 12kg. I do 100-120km a week on the bike and weights 2-3 times a week. It's helped heaps with archery and at work.

Yes. We've noticed that there is less of you now. What sort of things have you changed in terms of diet?

This running business isn't too bad after all -

I'm back in China, eating too much food and without my bike. I'm doing some pullups, dips, pushups, squats and situps but figured I'd try a little running as well.

I'm reasonably fit from the bike, so the cardio part isn't difficult at all - but it sure uses different muscles than riding and my legs get pretty tired!

Started with two runs of 5km, knocked off 7.2kms this morning in around 35 minutes. Probably not very fast, but I'm pretty happy.

Legs are a little sore, but otherwise pretty good.
