We do not refuse crossbow ads because we feel like we have any sort of legal requirement to do so.

We refuse crossbow advertisements because we choose not to do so on the basis that they are prohibited in many states.

We are not "running" from anything.

The forum admin will do what they want (such is the nature of power), but making a broad statement like this or taking this approach is the separatist way the shooting lobby has gone.... remember the adage about standing in numbers etc??

I would argue that many d!ckheads use bows as well, but this site encourages the use of bows.

The fact it is called Archery-forum and has taken that domain name really does imply you would be more accepting of all archers... surprising that you don't include them really.

One more time.

We do not allow the trading of crossbows on archery forum because of the sales restrictions in some states to their purchase and operation.

We are NOT interested in having our site used for illegal trading, which we would be promoting if we allowed the sales on here.

If someone bought a crossbow from here and then used it for illegal activity in a state with restrictions in place then it could well come straight back to ME personally as the site administrator.

It is very easy for those sitting at home to criticize this stance when the repercussions towards you are zero. However I do not have that luxury so that is the rule.

You may consider this hiding or being soft. I don't care. I'm not risking my site or my assets so 1-2 people can advertise their crossbows here. It's a free site so live by the rules.

If you do not like it go and start arbalist-forum.com and offer all the classifieds you want.
